I want to start out with the two games that are not for online play. They would be Donkey Kong, " Shocker", and Infamous, also a shocker, but in a different way.
Donkey Kong was released in 1981, made by Nintendo. The unusual thing about this game is that the player played to defeat Donkey Kong the ape, not to play as him. The players would play as Mario who would later become a hit and leave Donkey Kong to play with some bongos, as in Donkey Konga, and be in the cast of some Mario games. The object of this game was to avoid the barrels that Donkey Kong threw down the ladders and platforms while trying to get to the top. Other thing such as fireballs would try to stop Mario, but if you were lucky, you would find a hammer that would help solve that problem. Now why would Mario want to climb to the top and knock DK off of the highest platform. To save Pauline, Mario's girl. That's right, not Princes Peach. People still think that the girl that was geting strangeled by Donkey Kong was Peach. Why they added Peach to the mix of it all and took out Pauline, I dont know.
Now for Infamous. I have played this game for a total of about 30 seconds at a target, and I was amazed. I took the lead character Cole, flew off of a MAGLEV train useing electric powers, did a flip, jumped and held on to a street lamp, and fried a citizen. I"m not to familiar with the story, but from what I can tell, Cole knew that for some reason he had to steal an electric bomb, that blew up anyways. The world was then toasted, not having much effect on anyone but Cole. Cole had electric powers. The goverment was overthrown and left with no power. The world was an anarchy. The story mode is filled with drama and can be changed, according to how you completed your missions. You can choose from evil ways that will benefit yourself, or heroic ways that will benefit others. This game, along with a PS3 to play it on, will for sure, be on my Christmas list
