The EQ

The EQ...the Essential Question. An open-ended question posing a question that can only be answered through compiling a hefty body of evidence. It's pretty exciting!

By the end of today (Wednesday) you need to post a blog entry(not a response but an original post) stating your EQ. Reflect upon how you chose it and what direction(s) you're being pulled in to answer it. What pieces will you put into your portfolio body of evidence? What is your plan of attack?

Your blog needs to be atleast 1/2 page (that's about 250 words) and needs to show me that you've been thinking and planning. There should be no, "I don't get it" mumblings.

Go forth and answer your EQ, boys.

  1. My essential question is what makes me happy. There is lots of things that make me happy. I picked this question because I don’t have to do research and I don’t have to think very hard its just what makes me happy. Everyone has hundreds of things that make them happy. I have allot because I am usually a happy person I very rarely get mad. I am not a picky eater so there is lots of food that make me happy, I love to eat. I can write about how I like to go to amusement parks and what I like about them, there is lots of stuff to write about amusement parks. I could write about what people make me happy and why, I have allot of cool friends and family members, and my girl friend. I can write about the things that make me un happy. I don’t have many things that make me un happy but that would give a view of both what I like and what I don’t like. I have allot opinions that I can express about this essential question. The best thing about this question is that no matter what I say my facts are not wrong and I will be able to say what I want to say. This is the best essential question for me. I have wrote this much just about how this is a good essential question for me and how I could write about it. I will be able to write allot about the things that make me happy.

  3. my essential question is like tevins. what makes me happy because like what tevin said lots of things make me happy friends, family, sports, hobbies, music, stores, food and much more. then i can talk about how each of these makes me happy because for example how music makes me happy is it can set any kind of mood it can set a thinking mood for homework. and then it can set a romantic setting for when your around a girl that you like and most emportantly the music that i personaly like is the kind that gets me ready for a game or weight lifting that is the best mood i can be in is when im in the weight room with my friends lifting to some awesome music. that what makes this a perfect question for me and tevin because its an easy topic that makes sence and like tevin also said non of it is a lie its all about me because its what makes me happy not you.

  4. my first poem was Run my small child
    Through the bloody fields
    Weave around the dead bodies
    But never slow down
Beware of the cannons and bullets
Run until you can run no more
    Don't cry my small child
    Let me die here
    Slowly and painfully
I do not worry about me
You must not let your fate be like mine
This is why I tell you
    Run, Run, Run
Until your feet are red and burning
Until you can no longer hear the cries
Until the pain of it all slowly fades
    Be strong and be brave
Grow up to be a leader
    Ever persistent in your missions
    Restore sanity among the nations
    Make me proud, my child
But for now just run... by
megan christine. i chose this poem because it shows how much somthing like war can scare a child and how we need to prepare them for somthing like this as if it would happen the next day.

  5. my second poem is For every fallen soldier,
Who died in a foreign land,
To protect our freedom and liberty,
    United we shall stand.

They always had a good attitude,
    Their hearts pure and true,
    They have earned our gratitude,
For a hero we see in you.

No matter what they still shall fight,
For that is what they do,
A spark of hope they shall ignite,
The dream of peace, they pursue.

    Today America thanks you all,
For all that you have done,
Together we have stood so tall,
One nation, one family, one son. By Anonymous. i chose thispoem because it shows how much people love this country and and that they would risk there lives to to keep it the way it is today a land of promise and freedom.

  6. My third poem is, On the day of nine eleven
God was crying up in heaven
He wept for those who died
He wept for all their lives
He also cried for the families back home
Who would feel isolated and all alone
Moments later there was a knock at the gate
Standing there was a little girl of eight
Her whole body was burned, black and blue
But our father knew just what to do
He picked her up and held her tight
Suddenly she was healed, made alright
Hundreds more came and work was done
They too were healed by the father and son
Angels were sent out on earth
To help those sad, angry, and hurt
Our loved ones are in a better place
This is why we must have faith. By no no. This poem means alot it is based on te horrible day of 9-11 and on that day terorist hijacked planes and crashed one into the twin towers, the next one tried to hit the pentagon. this poem is explaining to everyone about what this world is coming to.

  7. My EQ topic or essential question is “why would the nuclear holocaust happen or occur”. I am interested in this because I would like to know what is going on between our country and the ones over seas. I know this topic will be long and I formative. I would like to be able to get a better perspective on why this is going to take place.

  8. My peom
    Every day when we wake
We think when is it coming
We lie in fear and ask why
We remember the people who risked their lives
But we still know, that day is still coming
Every day we stare fear in the face
And maybe one day we can beat it.
