Blog Prompt 19 August 2009

Oooh! An unannounced quiz! Sweet! I love these! Comment back to this post with your answers.

Keep your answers to yourself. If you are caught sharing answers, all parties involved will receive a zero! That means no talking. When you're done, log off and return to the tables ready to go.

First, compare the directions for peer editing (Bless, Press and Address).

Second, compile a summary based on your knowledge thus far of MLA Style. In short, tell me everything you know about MLA.

Now, tell me three things you need to do to be successful in my class and tell me three things I can do to help you be successful.

  1. First, Bless; tell somebody to readit or say that it is okay to go. press means you really edit it heavaly. to adress it is to check it to see if it meats the requirements. okay MlA Style is like something that a bunch of old guys pulled out of their arse it is practicly makes every paper the same like: size twelve times new roman font and no underlines, itallic or boldfaceing(exept in titles can be underlined) must include a header and a heading that includes you name in the header ex. Archer1
    then it includes the following
    Jacob Archer
    RVermillion

  4. Blessing is basicly just a coment saying " You did good." Adressing is pointing out a specific detail about the paper. Pressing is ripping the paper together and putting it back together in a more orderly fashion. In conclusion, thats how blessing, pressing, and adressing are all different.

  5. bless-means that you dont think it should be corrected
press-means to press it as it is wrong in some way
adress-means adress the problems with it

  6. press means to really edit, bless means just say that its all good, adress means to fix certain things like spelling or somthing like that. It stands for modern language association and thats all i know about that i forgot the rest. I have to behave, i have to be here, i have to do my work to the best of my abilitys.

  8. to bless it meens to just give it a last minute check. to press meens to take time to edit it. to address it meens that you check it to meet the MLA standards. MLA style has a certain set of rules you must follow

  9. For the second question, MLA means moderen language asociation. A paper written in MLA needs a heading and a header. The header for me would be Jpiper1. A header is your first initial, last name and the page number. The heading is my full name, R Vermillion, English 9, and the date in international style. Then center the title and start writing!

  10. Bless,is to complement, or to tell the person how well they did. Press is to heavily edit, or revise it strongly, and to address is to refer it to someone else. MLA is the modern launguage ascociation, that really old guys made because they had nothing else to do. three things i would do to be succsessful in your class is pay attention, stay on task, and turn in my work on time.

    Quinton Le Quieu

    Mrs.Vermillion

    English 9

  11. The three peer editing are bless, press and adress. Bless means, say they did a good job it's ready for teacher your the last person to look at it. Press means to tear it apart and rebuild it to make it better. Adress it means tell them exactly what's wrong.
MLA style was made so that all english papers look the same. You have to put a heading on the top right hand corner last name and what page number it is. Then you have to put your name the teacher's name, the class, and finally the date in inernational style above where you write your assay. Next you center the title of your assay. Following you indent and type your story. The next page will only have the heading last name 2.
Three things that would make me successful is if I stay quiet, attentive, and turn my work in on time. Three things that you could do to help me pass your class is: if it's hard work give us a longer due date, teaching to the best of your ability, and finally comeing to school a little earlier so that I can ask you questions in the morning.

  14. The meaning of Bless Press and Adress is like saying that if you want it some thing blessed you just want people ot just straight up think its perfect and you can turn it in. Press means that you want people to read it and edit any errors in it.Last is Adress which means that you want to see if it meets with all the requirments.( this is not my finished work)
